Beer market in the Czech Republic and the role of mini-breweries

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je věnována trhu s pivem v České republice a roli, kterou zde hraji minipivovary. Primárním cílem práce je určit tržní strukturu na českém trhu s pivem a nalézt největších producentů. Dílčím cílem je prozkoumat, jakou roli na českém trhu s pivem hrají a minipivovary. Práce je rozdělená do třech části. Teoretická část mapuje základní informace o trhu s pivem v České republice z historického a ekonomického pohledu. Zvlášť jsou uvedeny základní informace charakterizující trh s zemědělským výrobkem a jeho specifika. Praktická část se zabývá popisem současné situace na světovém trhu s pivem a situací na trhu s pivem v České republice: kapitola obsahuje informace o rozdělení pivovarů z hlediska zdanění a zkoumá fenomén minipivovarů. Součástí výkladu je popis hlavních producentů piva v ČR a kvantifikace koncentrace v odvětví. Další součásti je analýza produkce a spotřeby piva v ČR. Poslední kapitola analytické časti se zaměří na obchod s pivem:import a export a vývoj celkové nabídky a celkové spotřeby piva. Poslední návrhová část obsahuje návrhy na zlepšení stávající situace českém na trhu s pivem. Závěr shrnuje všechny poznatky a závěry, ke kterým v rámci zpracování dospělo.

Abstract:

The master’s dissertation is devoted to the beer market in the Czech Republic and the role that minibreweries play here. The primary goal of this work is to determine the market structure in the Czech beer market and find the largest producers. A partial goal is to explore the role played by mini-breweries on the Czech beer market. The work is divided into three parts. The theoretical part maps the basic information about the beer market in the Czech Republic from a historical and economic point of view. The basic information characterizing the agricultural product market and its specifics is given separately. The practical part deals with the description of the current situation on the world beer market and the situation on the beer market in the Czech Republic: the chapter contains information on the division of breweries in terms of taxation and examines the phenomenon of mini-breweries. Part of the interpretation is a description of the main beer producers in the Czech Republic and quantification of concentration in the industry. Another component is the analysis of beer production and consumption in the Czech Republic. The last chapter of the analytical part will focus on the beer trade: import and export and the development of the total supply and total consumption of beer. The last proposal part contains views on how to improve the current situation in the Czech beer market.
