Mediating the issue of disinformation through an artists' book

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá autorskou ilustrovanou knihou a jejím didaktickým využitím. Teoretická část práce pojednává o vzniku a historii knihy, jejích částech, knižní technologii a fenoménu autorské knihy. Je rovněž rešerší současných autorů, autorských kolektivů a nakladatelství, která se tomuto médiu věnují. Praktická část popisuje inspirační zdroje a východiska, jež vedla ke vzniku autorské knihy na téma dezinformace v médích. Mapuje a podrobně popisuje výrobu této knihy, zvolené umělecké postupy a grafické techniky. Součástí praktické části je návrh a reflexe výtvarného zadání, které využívá vzniklou autorskou knihu a její ilustrace.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the author's illustrated book and its didactic use. The theoretical part of the thesis discusses the origin and history of the book, its parts, book technology, and the phenomenon of the author's book. It is also a search for contemporary authors, author collectives, and publishing houses that are dedicated to this medium. The practical part describes the sources of inspiration and starting points that led to the author's book on the topic of disinformation in the media. It maps and describes in detail the production of this book, the chosen artistic procedures, and graphic techniques. Part of the practical part is the design and reflection of an art assignment that uses the created author's book and its illustrations.
