Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce popisuje události odehrávající se těsně po vzniku Československa na území obývaném převážně českými Němci na pozadí jejich snah o připojení se k Německému Rakousku. Tyto události jsou vylíčeny pohledem jednoho z nich, významného agrárního politika Wilhelma Maixnera. Ten byl v tomto období zodpovědný za zásobování a distribuci těchto oblastí potravinami. Neúspěch tohoto snažení byl důsledkem špatného zásobování a diplomatického úsilí československé vlády. Českým Němcům nezbylo nic jiného, než se začlenit do nově vzniklého státu – Československa.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis describes the events that took place just after the establishment of Czechoslovakia in the territory inhabited predominantly by Czech Germans in the background of their attempts to join German Austria. These events are portrayed by one of them, an important agrarian politician Wilhelm Maixner. He was responsible for supplying and distributing these areas with food supplies during this period. The failure of this effort was the consequence of the poor supply and diplomatic efforts of the Czechoslovak government. The Czech Germans had nothing left but to integrate into the newly established state – Czechoslovakia.
