Abstract:

Bakalářská diplomová práce „Mutující médium: Proměna estetiky fotografie nástupem nových médií“ komparativně analyzuje estetiku analogové fotografie a digitálního obrazu. Práce se pokouší dokázat změnu fotografické povahy a jejího vizuálního vnímání. Práce je založená na metodě kritického porovnávání vybraných estetických pojmů v rámci problémů analogového a digitálního obrazu. V první části práce stručně obeznamuje čtenáře s vybranými problémy reprezentace a estetiky analogové fotografie. Další část vymezuje povahu fotografie podle úvah vybraných teoretiků. Následně se práce zaměřuje na definici nových médií, na jejich vztah s uměním a popisuje i jejich estetické principy. Poslední část se věnuje srovnání technických a s nimi spojených estetických principů analogové fotografie a digitálního obrazu. Popisuje proměny estetických vlastností fotografie způsobené digitalizací. Analyzuje pojem reprezentace, znakový charakter fotografie, její vztah k zobrazovanému referentu, dematerializaci, fotografii jako důkaz skutečnosti, její pravdivost, důvěryhodnost a falešnost. Dále se zajímá o manipulaci, derealizaci, idealizaci. Popisuje pojmy reprodukovatelnost, kopie, aura, autenticita, popisuje fenomén postmoderny a odklon od obsahu k formě.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis „Mutating Medium: Metamorphosis of aesthetics of photography due to emergence of new media“ comparatively analyses the aesthetics of analogue photography and digital imaging. This work attempts to demonstrate the change of photographic nature and its visual perception. The paper is based on the method of critical comparison of selected aesthetic concepts considering the problems of analogue and digital imaging. The first part briefly describes the reader with selected problems of representation and aesthetics of analogue photography. Another section defines the nature of photographs by considerations of selected theorists. Afterwards, the work focuses on the definition of new media, on their relationship with art and describes their aesthetic principles. The last section is devoted to a comparison of technical and related aesthetic principles of analogue photography and digital imaging. Comparatively, describes the transformation of aesthetic value of photography due to its digitization. It analyzes the concept of representation, dematerialization, photography in relation to the signified “referent” and photography as proof of the fact, trustworthiness and falsehood. Furthermore it is interested in manipulation, derealisation and idealization. It describes the concepts of reproducibility, copy, aura and authenticity. The work shows the transition of photography from modernism to postmodernism and moving away from content to form.
