Demokratizace občanské společnosti v Baltských státech: Analýza transformace během Ukrajinské krize

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá dopad probíhající geopolitické krize, konkrétně rusko-ukrajinského konfliktu, na demokratizaci občanské společnosti v Baltských státech, Estonsku, Lotyšsku a Litvě. Nejprve byla provedena rozsáhlá rešerše literatury s cílem prozkoumat konkrétní aspekty demokratizace občanské společnosti v Baltském regionu. Výzkum využívá data z demokratických indexů, jako jsou Nations in Transit, Bertelsmann Transformation Index (BTI) a Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem), k analýze trendů demokratizace během geopolitické krize. Studie navíc zkoumá vliv významné rusky mluvící menšiny na dynamiku baltské občanské společnosti. Skrze tuto analýzu práce zkoumá nedávné změny v politice a reakci občanské společnosti na ně, zdůrazňuje složitost hodnocení kvality demokracie a klade zásadní otázky ohledně možného dopadu omezení národní bezpečnosti na demokracii.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis explores the impact of the ongoing geopolitical crisis, specifically the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, on the democratisation of civil society in the Baltic states, namely Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Initially, an extensive literature review was conducted to explore specific aspects of the democratisation of civil society in the Baltics. The research employs data from democracy indices, such as Nations in Transit, Bertelsmann Transformation Index (BTI), and Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem), to comprehensively analyse democratisation trends during geopolitical crisis. The study additionally explores the influence of a significant Russian-speaking minority on the dynamics of Baltic civil society. Through this analysis, the thesis examines recent changes in politics and civil society's reaction to them, highlighting the complexity of assessing democracy quality and raising essential questions about the potential impact of national security restrictions on democracy.
