Ethics in external and internal audit

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá etikou z pohledu externího a interního auditu. Obsahem práce je nejprve obecná etika, na kterou navazuje profesní a podnikatelská etika. První kapitola je zakončena nástroji podnikatelské etiky. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na audit. Z větší části je věnována externímu a internímu auditu a jejich spolupráci. Na konci je doplněna o téma podvodného jednání. Třetí kapitola se zabývá etikou auditorské profese, která podrobněji analyzuje etický kodex interních a externích auditorů. Poslední kapitola je věnována účetnímu skandálu v Toshibě, ve které jsou aplikovány poznatky z předešlých kapitol. Cílem diplomové práce je zhodnocení důsledků neetického chování a porušení právních předpisů v oblasti auditu i podnikového řízení na základě vybraného účetního skandálu, a to jak z pohledu externího a interního auditu, tak i účetních a managementu podniku.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with ethics in external and internal audit. The first part focuses on ethics in general followed by professional and business ethics. First chapter ends with description of tools of business ethics. The second chapter is focused on audit. For the most part, it is devoted to external and internal audit and their cooperation. The end of this chapter includes thorough description of frauds. The third chapter deals with the ethics of the auditing profession, subsequently it analyzes the code of ethics of internal and external auditors in more detail. The last chapter is devoted to the accounting scandal in Toshiba, in which the findings from the previous chapters are applied. The aim of the diploma thesis is an evaluation of consequences of unethical behavior and violation of law within audit and corporate management area based on specific accounting scandal, including views of external and internal audit, accountants and management.
