The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the representation of the Orient in Agatha Christie’s novels in connection with Edward W. Said’s Orientalism, in which he presented his theory that the West has created the representations of the Orient as its other, and to determine whether Agatha Christie approached the Orient in accordance with Orientalism and thus strengthened and maintained the portrayal …more
