This thesis is a re-exploration of Diego Quemada-Diez’s 2013 movie titled La Jaula de Oro. The principal objective in this work is to analyze and contextualize the migration phenomenon with hypotheses centered around psychological theories in main part though Maslow’s pyramid of needs and Lacan’s Mirror Stage.
