Tax Harmonization or Competition - the Case of the EU

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce "Daňová harmonizace versus daňová konkurence - aplikace na Evropskou unii" je analýza daňových systémů zemí Evropské unie. V první části práce se zaměřuji na vymezení základních pojmů daňové problematiky a vývojem teoretických postojů k otázkám daní. Druhá část shrnuje dosavadní postupy ve slaďování daňových struktur a přijatá opatření na poli Evropské unie. V závěru práce potom analyzuji vliv integrace a globalizace mezinárodních trhů na daňové systémy členských zemí a dále přínosy a rizika spojená se zavedením harmonizace daní v EU.

Abstract:

The thesis "Tax Harmonization or Competiton - the Case of the EU" is dealing with analysis of the tax systems in the countries of the European Union. First part is directed to define elementary terms of tax problems and the development of the theoretical attitudes towards tax questions. Second part summarize used progresses in the harmonizing tax structures and accepted provisions in the EU. The end of the work analyzes influence of the integration and globalization of international markets to tax systems in the member states, continuing boons and risks connected with establishment of the tax harmonization in EU.
