Contemporary trends in youth substance abuse in the Prague region

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na současné trendy v užívání návykových látek (dále též „NL“) mladistvými ve věku 15 až 17 let. Autor této práce v důsledku logického členění textu rozdělil bakalářskou práci na dvě základní části, tedy na část teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části této práce se autor zaměřil na objasnění základního pojmosloví, které je s tématem drog neodmyslitelně spjato a pro správné pochopení celé problematiky drog a trendů v jejich užívání je toto zcela stěžejní. Dále se autor v teoretické části zaměřil na základní charakteristiku jednotlivých a nejčastěji užívaných drog, jejich dělbu a trendy, které se v užívání návykových látek v posledních letech mezi mladistvými vyskytují, pročež v této části je rovněž kladen důraz na zkoumání a popis způsobu jejich užívání a aplikaci. K praktické části této práce autor přistoupil formou dotazníkového šetření, které bylo rozesláno mezi studenty středních odborných škol. Tyto byly, jak rovněž název této práce napovídá, geograficky ohraničeny pouze na školy umístěné na území hlavního města Prahy. Získaná data z dříve zmíněného dotazníkového šetření jsou autorem této práce v praktické části rovněž vyhodnocována. Výsledky tohoto hodnocení si kladou za cíl nastínit postup, v důsledku kterého by se dalo užívání drog u mladistvých předejít.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis is focused on current trends in the use of addictive substances (hereinafter referred to as „NL“) by adolescents aged 15 to 17. As a result of the logical division of the text, the author of this thesis divided the bachelor's thesis into two basic parts, i.e. the theoretical part and the practical part. In the theoretical part of this work, the author focused on clarifying the basic terminology, which is inextricably linked to the topic of drugs, and for a correct understanding of the entire issue of drugs and trends in their use, this is absolutely crucial. Furthermore, in the theoretical part of this work, the author focused on the basic characteristics of the individual and most commonly used drugs, their classification and trends that have occurred in the use of addictive substances among adolescents in recent years, which is why in this part the emphasis is also placed on the examination and description of the method of their use and application. The author approached the practical part of this work in the form of a questionnaire survey, which was distributed among students of secondary and higher vocational schools. These were, as the name of this thesis also suggests, geographically limited only to schools located in the territory of the capital city of Prague. The data obtained from the previously mentioned questionnaire survey are evaluated separately by the author of this work in the practical part. The results of this evaluation aim to outline a process by which drug use among adolescents could be prevented.
