T: Object photography in the context of trauma - on selected examples of artists creating in Poland after 2000

Abstract:

Práce představuje téma fotografie předmětů v kontextu traumat. Představuje tvorbu vybraných umělkyň, které tvořily v Polsku po roce 2000 a které se touto problematikou zabývají. Výběr příkladů má za cíl ukázat traumata spojená s událostmi z dětství, se smrtí milovaného člověka, se životem občanů města v době, kdy jsou terorizováni vrahem, s krizí v zemi, a také traumata zaznamenaná v archivech Ústavu soudního lékařství Jagellonské univerzity Collegium Medicum. Ve své práci také představuji realitu a změny polské fotografie tváří v tvář s rokem 2000, které ovlivňují její vývoj a mění náhled mladých umělců. Na vybraných příkladech také ukážu, jak běžným jevem se tehdy stalo fotografování předmětu, a jak důležitým a zajímavým nástrojem, umožňujícím vyjádřit se k mnohým otázkám, se pro umělce po roce 2000 předmět stal.

Abstract:

The work shows the subject of object photography in the context of trauma. It presents the works of selected artists creating in Poland after the year 2000, who have taken up this issue in their works. The selection of examples is intended to show the traumas related to: childhood events, death of the nearest person, inhabitants of the city at a time when it is being terrorized by a murderer, a country in crisis, and traumas recorded in the archives of the Chair and Department of Forensic Medicine of the Jagiellonian University Collegium Medicum. In my work, I also present the realities and changes in Polish photography in the face of the year 2000, affecting its development and changing the ways of looking at young artists. On selected examples, I also show how common the phenomenon of object photography is then becoming, and how the object became an important and interesting tool for artists to talk about many issues after the year 2000.
