Economic value of volunteering (in emergencies)

Abstract:

Tato disertační práce se zabývá ekonomickou hodnotou dobrovolnictví. Jejím hlavním cílem je zhodnocení metod výpočtu ekonomické hodnoty dobrovolnictví a navržení modifikované metody. Zhodnocení metod bylo využito k vytvoření modifikované metody, intervalu ekonomické hodnoty dobrovolnictví, která kombinuje jednotlivé prvky z metod využívající bodové odhady. Tato metoda byla následně využita k formulaci teoretických hranic, od kterých jednotlivé metody přináší extrémní odhady. Metoda intervalu ekonomické hodnoty dobrovolnictví byla testována na vybraných případech dobrovolnictví při mimořádných událostech. Hlavním přínosem je teoretický nástroj, vzniklý na základě analýzy v této práci, který umožňuje výzkumníkům, ale i subjektům z praxe tvořícím metodiku pro výpočet ekonomické hodnoty dobrovolnictví, doplnit jejich design výzkumu o podpůrnou metodu, umožňující vyloučit náhradní mzdy, přinášející extrémní odhady. Výsledkem disertační práce je také výpočet odhadů ekonomické hodnoty dobrovolnické práce při vybraných případech dobrovolnictví.

Abstract:

The doctoral thesis deals with the economic value of volunteering. The main goal of the thesis is the assessment of the method of the measuring the economic value of volunteering and to propose the modified method. On the base of the assessment of the methods, the modified method was created: the interval of the economic value of volunteering. This method combines the elements of the methods which use point estimates. This method was subsequently used for the formulation of the theoretical bounds of the extreme estimates of the each of the type of the replacement wage. Method of the interval of the economic value of volunteering was tested on the chosen cases of the emergency volunteering. The main benefit of the thesis is the theoretical tool, based on the analysis in this thesis. This theoretical tool enables researches to upgrade their research design for the supplementary method. This supplementary method enables the researchers to exclude from the research such methods, which are bringing extreme results. Other result of the thesis is the calculation of the estimates of the economic value of volunteering of the chosen cases of volunteering.
