Persecution of the opposition and the nonconformist activities in the North East of Bohemia in the period of 1969-1989

Abstract:

Diplomová práce mapuje opoziční a nonkonformní aktivity v severozápadních Čechách v období tzv. normalizace. Popisuje jednotlivé případy a následnou perzekuci, jíž byly jednotlivé osoby vystaveny. Část práce je věnována případovým studiím, ve kterých je analyzován průběh trestního stíhání. V práci nechybí analýza vyšetřovacích metod bezpečnostních orgánů a justice jakožto opěrného systém komunistického režimu v Československu. Práce vychází z široké pramenné základy převážně z fondů Archivu bezpečnostních složek a ze sbírky Libri prohibiti v konfrontaci s pamětníky a odbornou literaturou.

Abstract:

In this thesis, we try to cover the activities of opposition and nonconformists in the North East Bohemia in the period of so. normalization. We describe particular cases and the following persecution. Partially, the thesis involves case studies in which we analyse the prosecution procedures. Further, the investigative methods of the security authorities and judiciary as the supporting system of the communist government in Czechoslovakia are identified within this work. As the sources, the fund of Archive of Security Services, collections of Libri prohibiti, interviews with witnesses, and topical literature are used in this thesis.
