Probation and Mediation Service of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá činností Probační a mediační služby České republiky. V první části se věnuje restorativní justici jakožto důležitému pojmu k pochopení celého tématu. Další část poskytuje osvětlení pojmů probace a mediace včetně zákonných definic a dalších důležitých informací. Třetí kapitola je věnována legislativní úpravě, především zákonu č. 257/2000 Sb. o Probační a mediační službě, a dále zákonu o obětech trestných činů. Následující kapitola obsahuje praktické poznatky probačních pracovníků střediska Probační a mediační služby v Chomutově. Poslední část práce analyzuje výsledky dotazníkového šetření v oblasti informovanosti veřejnosti. Cílem práce je shrnout teoretické poznatky, na jejichž základě lze pochopit praktickou činnost probačních pracovníků, popsanou díky jejich spolupráci při tvorbě této práce. Stanoveným cílem je taktéž dotazníkový průzkum informovanosti veřejnosti a zároveň podpora znalostí dotázaných.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the Probation and Mediation Service of the Czech Republic. The first part deals with restorative justice as an important concept for understanding the whole topic. The next section provides an explanation of the terms probation and mediation, including legal definitions and other important information. The third section is devoted to legislation, especially Act No. 257/2000 Coll. on the Probation and Mediation Service, as well as the Act on Victims of Crime. The following section contains practical knowledge of probation workers of the Probation and Mediation Service Center in Chomutov. The last part of the work analyzes the results of a questionnaire survey in the sense of public awareness. The primary aim of the work is to summarize the theoretical knowledge, on the basis of which it is possible to understand the practical activities of probation officers, described thanks to their cooperation in the creation of this work. The aim is also a questionnaire survey of public awareness and at the same time support of respondent’s knowledge.
