Avant-garde: relation to the tradition, negation and inclusion

Anotácia:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje vztahu avantgardy k vnímání tradice. V první teoretické části je představen pojem avantgarda, její pozice v umělecko-historickém kontextu a její přístup k uměleckému vnímání světa. Druhá část objasňuje názory teoretika Karla Teigeho na avantgardu a prakticky je porovnává s významným avantgardním architektem Le Corbusierem. Práce se pokouší především odpovědět na otázku, co je podle obou teoretiků hodné zachovat pro cíle avantgardy z výtvarné či architektonické tradice a co je naopak nutné odstranit z důvodu uměleckého pokroku.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the avant-garde point of view on tradition. The first part introduces the term avant-garde, its position in the art-historical context and its attitude towards the artistic perception of the world. The second part explains the opinions of the theoretician Karel Teige on avant-garde and practically compares it with a significant avant-garde architect, Le Corbusier. The work primarily attempts to answer the question, what is for the artistic and architectural tradition, according to both theoreticians, worth preserving for the goals of avant-garde and what is, on the other hand, necessary to remove due to the artistic progress.
