ProGaming through the eyes of former players

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s tématem „Progaming očima bývalých hráčů“ se zaměřuje na oblast progamingu z prostředí České republiky a Evropy. Cílem práce je popis prostředí progamingové scény se zaměřením na bývalé hráče. V rámci teoretické části se zabývám rozdělením komunity počítačových hráčů podle věku a zaměřuji se na jejich motivaci k účasti v progamingu. Dále se zaměřuji na prožitky hráčů, jejich vztahy, role v týmu, konflikty a na prožívané emoce. V rámci praktické části provádím kvalitativní analýzu rozhovorů s bývalými hráči otevřeným, axiálním a selektivním kódováním. Ve výzkumné části stanovuji vztahy hlavní kategorie a deseti dalších. Výsledkem výzkumu je charakteristika průběhu herní kariéry hráče.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis „ProGaming through the eyes of former players“ focuses on proGaming of the Czech Republic and Europe. The goal of this work is the description of environment proGaming scenes focusing on former players. The theoretical part deals with the division of community of computer players by age and focuses on their motivation to participate in E-sports. Further I focus on the experiences of players, their relationship, team roles, conflicts and emotions. In the practical part I perform a qualitative anaysis by open, axial and selective coding and I establish relations major categories with ten other. The result of the research is the characteristic of the course of the game player's career.
