Abstract:
Poruchy příjmu potravy jsou primárně psychiatrická onemocnění, která však mohou mít řadu následků na celkovém zdraví pacienta, včetně zdraví orálního. Poruchy příjmu potravy mohou být totiž doprovázeny mnoha projevy na tvrdých i měkkých tkáních dutiny ústní, a dentální hygienistka tak může být první, kdo na tuto poruchu u pacienta upozorní. Eating disorders are primarily psychiatric illnesses which can have several consequences on the patient´s overall health, including oral health. Eating disorders can be accompanied by many manifestations on the hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity and the dental hygienist can thus be the first to notice this disorder in a patient.
