A Child with Down Syndrome

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou dítěte s Downovým syndromem. Dělí se na teoretickou a empirickou část. Teoretická část popisuje Downův syndrom z hlediska jeho historie, epidemiologie, příčin vzniku, příznaků a doprovodných onemocnění. Dále se věnuje prenatální diagnostice syndromu, péči o dítě v oblasti zdravotních a sociálních služeb, vzdělávání a pomocných organizací. Pozornost věnuje přijetí dítěte rodinou a společností. Podkladem empirické části práce byl kvantitativní výzkum se sběrem dat pomocí nestandardizovaného dotazníku. Výzkum byl zaměřen na dopad péče na život pečovatele, přístup okolí k dítěti, jeho integraci, předsudky společnosti a nabídku podpory péče formou služeb, terapií a aktivit a jejich využití pečovateli.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of a child with Down syndrome. It is divided into the theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part describes Down syndrome in terms of its history, epidemiology, causes, symptoms and accompanying diseases. It also deals with the prenatal diagnosis of the syndrome, childcare in the field of health and social services, education and support organizations. The thesis pays attention to the acceptance of the child by the family and society. The empirical part of the work was based on quantitative research with data collection using a non-standardized questionnaire. The research focused on the impact of care on the caregiver's life, the approach of the people in surroundings to the child, its integration, the prejudices of society and the offer of support for care in the form of services, therapies and activities and their use by the caregivers.
