Identity in Gish Jen´s novel Mona in the Promised Land
Abstract:
Tato práce se zabývá zpracováním identity v románu Gish Jen Mona in the Promised Land. Práce se především zaměřuje na analýzu etnické identity postav z hlediska začlenění do společnosti a mezigeneračních rozdílů. V práci je také stručně uvedena historie čínskoamerické literatury a čínské imigrace.
Abstract:
The thesis deals with the identity in Gish Jen's Mona in the Promised Land. It primarily analyses the ethnic identity of characters in terms of integration and generational differences. Furthermore, it is concerned with the brief history of Chinese American literature and Chinese immigration.
