The history of the German grammar school in Uherské Hradiště

Abstract:

This Bachelor`s dissertation is focused on the history of the German grammar school in Uherské Hradiště, which was established in this Moravian town in 1854, with the education continuing there till 1919 , when it was closed. This dissertation gives a brief overview of the history of the town Uherské Hradiště, the political situation in the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and the national policy question in the 2nd half of the 19th century. The main part of this dissertation describes the establishment and development of this grammar school. In the practical part of this work, archive sources have been used to acquire information about the number of students, their nationality, information about the teaching plans, head masters/mistresses and teachers of the grammar school.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na historii německého gymnázia v Uherském Hradišti. Toto gymnázium vzniklo v roce 1854, výuka v něm probíhala do roku 1919, kdy bylo zrušeno. V práci je stručně popsána historie města Uherské Hradiště, politická situace v Rakousko-uherské monarchii, otázka národnostní politiky ve II. polovině 19. století a rozvoj školství na Moravě. Hlavní část práce je věnována vzniku a vývoji tohoto gymnázia. V praktické části práce byly na základě archivních pramenů zpracovány údaje o počtech studentů, jejich národnosti, informace o učebních plánech, ředitelích a učitelích gymnázia.
