The Proposal for Inventory Management Optimization in a Selected Branch of the Pharmacy Network

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou logistiky, nákupu, poptávkových procesů, skladování a řízení zásob ve farmaceutickém prostředí. Cílem práce je analyzovat současný stav a navrhnout optimalizaci těchto procesů v lékárně Dr. Max Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na logistiku a její klíčové aspekty, jako je štíhlá logistika, plýtvání v logistice a zelená logistika. Dále se zabývá nákupem, poptávkovými procesy, skladováním a řízením zásob. Jsou prezentovány metody používané pro optimalizaci skladových zásob, jako jsou JIT, just-in-sequence, hub and spoke, FIFO a LIFO, systém kanban, ABC-systém klasifikace zásob a metoda XYZ. Strategické řízení a klíčové ukazatele výkonnosti (KPI) jsou rovněž zahrnuty v této části. Praktická část se zaměřuje na konkrétní lékárnu Dr. Max, popisuje organizační systém celé společnosti. Dále analyzuje sortiment a procesy probíhající na lékárně, jako je nákupní proces, manipulace se zbožím a práce se zásobami. Prostřednictvím analýzy jsou identifikovány problémy spojené s mrtvým zbožím dermokosmetiky. Jsou navržena tři možná řešení a prezentovány návrhy dalších zlepšení. Výsledkem diplomové práce je komplexní analýza logistiky, nákupu, skladování a řízení zásob v lékárně Dr. Max a návrhy opatření pro zlepšení efektivity těchto procesů. Práce přispívá k lepšímu porozumění farmaceutické logistiky a poskytuje praktické doporučení pro optimalizaci procesů v lékárně.

Abstract:

This master's thesis addresses the issues of logistics, procurement, demand processes, storage, and inventory management in the pharmaceutical environment. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the current state and propose optimizations for these processes in Dr. Max pharmacy. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on logistics and its key aspects, such as lean logistics, waste in logistics, and green logistics. It further discusses procurement, demand processes, storage, and inventory management. Methods used to optimize inventory management are presented, including JIT, just-in-sequence, hub and spoke, FIFO and LIFO, kanban system, ABC inventory classification system, and XYZ method. Strategic management and key performance indicators (KPIs) are also included in this section. The practical part focuses on a specific pharmacy, Dr. Max, describing the organizational system of the entire company. It further analyzes the assortment and processes taking place at the pharmacy, such as the procurement process, merchandise handling, and inventory management. Through the analysis, issues related to dead stock of dermocosmetics are identified. Three potential solutions are proposed, along with suggestions for further improvements. The outcome of this thesis is a comprehensive analysis of logistics, procurement, warehousing, and inventory management at Dr. Max pharmacy, along with proposed measures to enhance the efficiency of these processes. This work contributes to a better understanding of pharmaceutical logistics and provides practical recommendations for process optimization within the pharmacy.
