Psychological aspects of pupil adaptation to change the educational system

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá popisem psychologických aspektů adaptace dětí po přestupu z alternativních způsobů vzdělávání. Konkrétně pracuje s tématem přechodu dětí z těchto vzdělávacích způsobů na školy tradiční či na jinak alternativně zaměřené. Blíže se také zabývá popisem jednotlivých specifických složek alternativních způsobů vzdělávání, které se od tradičního liší nejzásadněji, a které mohou způsobovat problémy při adaptaci. V práci je uveden nejen postoj samotných žáků, ale také jejich rodičů a současných učitelů. Adaptace byla zkoumána polostrukturovaným rozhovorem u čtyř žáků, kteří ve školním roce 2018/2019 nastoupili na nový vzdělávací systém. Přepis rozhovorů byl následně zpracován obsahovou, konceptuální a relační analýzou. Za specifické složky alternativních způsobů vzdělávání považujeme tyto kategorie: sociální prostředí a kolektiv, pracovní prostředí, autorita, struktura učiva, struktura času, biflování a tvrdé vědomosti, tempo učiva, domácí příprava, způsob hodnocení, postavení ve třídě a přístup ke vzdělání. Výsledky poukazují na to, že děti neměly s adaptací na nový vzdělávací systém významné problémy. Za nejvíce problémovou oblast považujeme tempo učiva, která vykazuje alespoň minimální problémy u všech respondentů.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with description of psychological aspects of childerns‘ adaptation after transiting from alternative educative methods. Specifically, the thesis works with the topic of the transition of children from these educational methods to traditional schools or to other alternatively focused ones. It also looks more closely at describing the specific components of alternative forms of education that are most fundamentally different from traditional ones and which can cause problems during adaptation. In this thesis is not only mentioned the attitude of the pupils themselves, but also their parents and present teachers. The adaptation was examined by a semi-structured interview with four pupils who commence the new education system in academic year 2018/2019. Then was the transcript of the interviews processed by content, conceptual and relation anlysis. The specific components of alternative education are: social environment and collective, working environment, authority, curriculum structure, time structure, learning by heart and hard knowledge, pace of learning, homework, comparison in the classroom, access to education. The results show that children did not have significant problems adapting to the new education system. We consider the most problematic issue to be the pace of learning, which shows at least minimal problems for all respondents.
