Content analysis of corporate web pages in the field of corporate social responsibility

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je najít odpověď na hlavní výzkumnou otázku ve znění: Jaké existují podobnosti ve formálním a obsahovém reportování organizace v oblasti společenské odpovědnosti firem? Pro zodpovězení této otázky je nutné teoreticky ukotvit základní pojmy spojené se společenskou odpovědností firem. Jedná se především o koncepty triple bottom line, legitimacy theory, teorii stakeholders. Dále je vysvětlen pojem CSR reportování včetně současných trendů v této oblasti. V návaznosti na tyto poznatky je nutné stanovit plán výzkumu, který je obsahem metodologické části práce a který měl poskytnout informace o obsahových a formálních podobnostech v CSR reportování. Za tímto účelem je použita metoda obsahové analýzy. Výzkumný vzorek je tvořen organizacemi, které jsou považovány za lídry v oblasti společenské odpovědnosti firem a výsledky by proto měly sloužit jako příklady dobré praxe. Poslední, empirická část práce je věnována samotnému výzkumu, jeho výsledkům a zároveň také zodpovězení hlavní výzkumné otázky.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to answer the question: Which similarities in form and content could be identified in reporting of corporate social responsibility? For achieving this goal it is necessary to find the theoretical basis for the triple bottom line concept, the legitimacy theory and the stakeholders theory. After that the CSR reporting is explained and the current trends are introduced. In this context, the plan of the research is created. It is listed in the methodology part of the thesis. This research should uncover the content and formal similarities in CSR reporting. For this purpose the content analysis is used. The research sample contains leaders in field of corporate social responsibility. That is the reason for introducing the results as best practices. The final part of the thesis is dedicated to the process of the research, its results and answering the main research question.
