Treating Pupils with a Different Mother Tongue

Abstract:

Aktuální výzvou českého školství je naplnění inkluzivního vzdělávání. Významnou, stále se rozšiřující skupinou na základních školách jsou žáci s odlišným mateřským jazykem. Čeští pedagogové se s nimi setkávají ve svých třídách stále častěji. Nedostatečná znalost češtiny limituje tyto děti v úspěšném studiu. Učitelé jsou nuceni pružně reagovat na individuální potřeby svých žáků a přizpůsobovat výuku situaci ve třídě, přestože se často nemohou se svými žáky ani dorozumět společným jazykem. Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na specifické rysy práce pedagogů na základních školách s žáky s odlišným mateřským jazykem. Popisuje podmínky, za kterých jsou tito žáci vzděláváni a jaké překážky musejí překonávat při studiu v jazyce odlišném od svojí mateřštiny.

Abstract:

The current challenge of Czech educational system is to reach succesfull inclusive education. An important and ever-expanding group in primary schools are pupils with different mother tongue. In their classes Czech teachers teach them more and more often. Insufficient knowledge of Czech language limits these children in their successful study. Teachers are forced to respond flexibly to the individual needs of their pupils and to adapt their teaching to the situation in the classroom, although they often cannot even communicate with their pupils in a common language. The bachelor thesis is focused on the specific features of the work of teachers in primary schools with EAL learners. It describes the conditions under which these pupils are educated and what difficulties they have to overcome when studying in a language other than their mother tongue.
