In this master thesis, cryptocurrencies and their investment potential are discussed. Selected cryptocurrencies are described and compared based on their properties among themselves and, where possible, with common system and currencies currently in use. V tejto práci sa rozoberajú kryptomeny a ich investičný potenciál. Vybrané kryptomeny sú popísané a porovnané na základe ich vlastností medzi sebou a v prípadoch, kde je to možné aj so súčasne používanými bežnými systémami a menami.
