Creation and analyses of German subtitles for Czech fairytale movie Anděl Páně

Abstract:

This master thesis is concerned with translation analysis of humor in Czech film fairy tale „Anděl Páně“ (Angel of the Lord) and German subtitles belonging to the film, which were created by the author for analysis purposes. The aim of the thesis is to detect similarities or possible differences in humor between the Czech original and the German subtitles using scenes and frames model and simultaneously to describe strategies together with scenes/frames used to obtain humor. Furthermore in the theses are compared gathered results.

Abstract:

Tato magisterská práce se zabývá překladatelskou analýzou humoru v české filmové pohádce Anděl Páně a německých titulcích k tomuto filmu, které autor práce za účelem analýzy vytvořil. Práce si klade za cíl pomocí modelu scenes and frames zjistit podobnosti či potencionální odlišnosti v humoru mezi českým originálem a německým titulky a zároveň popsat strategie a scenes/frames, které byly pro dosažení humoru použity. Následně práce zjištěné výsledky porovnává.
