Cold War in the Horn of Africa
Abstract:
Bakalářská práce se zabývá soupeřením dvou velmocí, Spojených států a Sovětského svazu, v oblasti Afrického rohu během studené války. Cílem bakalářské práce je srovnat vliv dvou velmocí v Rohu Afriky od vzniku samostatného Somálska roku 1960 do roku 1991, kdy byla ukončena studená válka a zároveň byly svrženy vládnoucí režimy v Somálsku a Etiopii.
Abstract:
The bachelor thesis deals with the rivalry between two powers, the United States and the Soviet Union, in the Horn of Africa during the Cold War. The bachelor thesis aims to compare the influence of two great powers in the Horn of Africa from the establishment of independent Somalia in 1960 to 1991 when the Cold War ended and the ruling regimes in Somalia and Ethiopia were overthrown.
