A senior as a victim of a crime from the Ostrava Metropolitan Police

Abstract:

Předložená bakalářská práce pojednává o senioru, jako oběti trestného činu, z pohledu činnosti Městské policie Ostrava. Senior, jako bytost, je velmi snadným terčem pro pachatele trestných činů. V teoretické části jsou definovány jednotlivé hlavní pojmy, kterými se tato práce zabývá s důrazem na seniora, který je snadným cílem protiprávního jednání. Dále je zde popsána činnost Městské policie Ostrava v oblasti prevence a ochrany bezpečnosti seniorů a vnímání těchto obětí. Praktická část je zaměřena na průzkum metodou kvantitativní formou dotazníkového šetření jednak na zjištění, zda je dostatečná působnost preventivních opatření, zaměřených na seniory, jako možné oběti TČ a jak své pocity bezpečí sami vnímají a také na zjištění teoretické a praktické připravenosti strážníků s rozdílnou délkou praxe, vedoucí ke zvyšování bezpečí seniorů. Cílem bakalářské práce bylo analyzovat stávající situaci, včetně definování pozitiv a nedostatků. Na základě provedených zjištění byla navržena řešení v podobě preventivních prvků a dalších opatření, ke zkvalitnění práce Městské policie Ostrava.

Abstract:

This bachelor?s thesis deals with the elderly as victims of crime from the point of view of the Metropolitan Police of Ostrava. A senior, as a human being, is a very easy target for criminals. In the theoretical part, each of the main concepts this thesis deals with is defined with an emphasis on the elderly as easy targets of the infringement. The activity pursued for prevention and security of the elderly, and the perception of such victims by the Metropolitan Police of Ostrava is also defined in this section. The practical part is conducted through quantitative method of questionnaires to determine whether there is a sufficient scope of preventive measures aimed at the elderly as possible victims of the criminal acts, how they perceive their safety, and also to establish the theoretical and practical preparedness of the officers with different length of service leading to increase in safety of the seniors. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the current situation, including the description of the advantages and shortcomings. Based on the findings, the solution in the form of preventive elements and other measures to improve the work of the Metropolitan Police of Ostrava has been proposed.
