Interactive Czech television shows: Dilemmas of chef Svatopluk and Sins for father Knox

Abstract:

Práce přibližuje dramaturgické pojetí televizních seriálů obsahujících interaktivní prvky a možnosti zásahu diváků do vývoje děje. Jedná se o dva seriály České televize – Rozpaky kuchaře Svatopluka z roku 1985 a Hříchy pro pátera Knoxe (1992). Tvůrci těchto seriálů se k zařazení interaktivních prvků do televizního vysílání inspirovali světově unikátním projektem Kinoautomat, uvedeným na světové výstavě EXPO v roce 1967 v Montrealu. Nejdůležitější součástí studie je hodnocení interaktivity z pohledu televizních diváků a prozkoumat jejich vztah s televizním médiem. Cílem práce je analýza těchto dvou seriálů s ohledem na rozdílné využití hlasů diváků ve vysílání, na celkovou percepci u televizního publika a technické prostředky, použité k zapojení diváků do procesu vysílání a soutěží.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis mounts to describe dramaturgic concept of television serials containing interactive elements and possibilities of interference of the television viewer into the progression of the storyline. In the concrete it is about two serials made by Czech television - Dilemmas of chef Svatopluk (made in 1985) and Sins for father Knox (made in 1992). Authors of this serials were inspired by the first interactive movie in the world Kinoautomat: Man and his house, which was made for the EXPO 1967 in Montreal. The most important part of this essay is classification of interactivity from the sight of television viewers and explore their relation with the television medium. The aim of this thesis is to analyse both of the serials with the consideration of the different usage of votes of the television viewers and on the complete reception by the television audience and the technical resources which are used for the viewers integration into the process of the broadcast and competitions.
