Zvýšení produktivity potravin v odvětví zemědělství jako faktoru snižování chudoby v Ghaně

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřená na zemědělství v Ghaně a zaměřuje se na to, jak může být zemědělství využito pro snížení chudoby v zemi. Studie zkoumá význam zemědělství pro hospodářský rozvoj Ghany. Také zoohledňu vliv ostatních sektorů ekonomiky (služeb a průmyslu), které jsou součástí hrubému domácímu produktu. Diplomové práce ukázala, že zemědělství není stěžejní pro ekonomiku Ghany a již dávno zaostává za sektorem služeb, pokud jde o HDP. Vláda Ghany chválila program na to, že do roku 2015 dojde k poloviční redukci současné chudoby, a proto se tato práce zabývala výskytem stávají chudoby ve všech deseti regionech.Dle nové hranice chudoby, se od roku 2006 výskyt chudoby v tomto období snížil, pořád ale stále existuje vysoký výskyt chudoby, zejména v severní části země (severní, východní a západní regiony ) a také v regionu Volta. Tato práce se zabývala důvody, proč je výskyt chudoby v těchto oblastech stále takto vysoký, a studie potvrdila, že vzhledem k tomu, že hlavním zaměstnáním lidí v těchto regionech je v hospodářství, a vzhledem k tomu, že zemědělství v těchto oblastech nenabízí tolik pracovních příležitostí, lidé nemají možnost sehnat jinou práci. To vedle k tomu, že lidé žijící v těchto oblastech nejsou schopni mít kvalitní potraviny, kvalitní zdravotní péči, kvalitní vzdělávání atd. A vede to k nárůstu a výskytu chudoby.Práce rovněž doporučila, jak lze zemědělství a hospodářství využít k dosažení celkového snížení chudoby tím, že se vezmeme v úvahu politické programy, které povzbudí a motivují mládež k tomu, aby se zapojila do zemědělství a odstranila tradičně zaměřené zemědělství a přinesla moderní přístupy, které povedou ke zvýšení produktivity.

Abstract:

This paper discusses Agriculture in Ghana and goes on further to look at how Agriculture can be used as the focal point to reduce poverty in the country. The study explores the relevance of the importance of agriculture in the economic development of Ghana. It takes into consideration the contribution of other sectors of the economy (service and industry) regarding contribution to Gross Domestic Product. The findings from the study came out that agriculture is the backbone of the economy of Ghana and for some time now has been falling behind the service sector regarding contribution to GDP. Ghana was recognized and commended for halving extreme poverty by 2015. Thus this study explored to bring out the actual poverty incidences in all ten regions.It came out that, according to the new poverty line which started from 2006, though poverty incidences have reduced over the period, there still exist high prevalence of poverty especially in the northern part of the country (Northern, Upper East, and Upper West regions) and in the Volta region as well. This study delved into the reasons why poverty incidences are still high in these areas. The study confirmed that given that the primary occupation of the people in these regions is farming, and for the fact that agriculture is not doing well in these areas, people find it difficult to make a living to take care of themselves. It has resulted in people living in these areas not able to get good food to eat, quality health care, quality education, etc. and has led to increases in poverty incidences. The research study also gives recommendations as to how Agriculture being the backbone of the economy can be used to achieve overall poverty reduction. It can be achieved by taking into consideration policies and programs that will enhance the interest of the youth in agriculture and by moving away from the focus of farming from the typical traditional ways of farming to a modern approach which will lead to increased productivity
