Crime Prevention at the Local Level - Analysis of Selected Projects

Abstract:

Tématem této diplomové práce je Prevence kriminality na místní úrovni – analýza vybraných projektů. Co to prevence vůbec je, jaký je její úkol, jak je důležitá, to a další otázky budou v této práci zodpovězeny. První dvě kapitoly práce nás uvedou do daného tématu vymezením základních pojmů a rozdělením systému organizace prevence. Ve třetí kapitole se seznámíme s vybranými subjekty prevence, jejichž programy budeme následně analyzovat. V další části práce si představíme cílové skupiny prevence, na které se v diplomové práci zaměříme. Pátá a šestá kapitola této práce je zaměřená na statistické údaje k bezpečnosti Karlovarského kraje a k představení nejčastějších trestných činů páchaných na vybraných cílových skupinách. Další část práce je zaměřena na prevenci kriminality na místní úrovni. Nakonec se v poslední kapitole dozvíme o významných preventivních programech na území Karlovarského kraje jako je například projekt Senior Akademie či projekt Internetem Bezpečně. Z analýzy daných projektů bude zřejmé, jak jsou oblíbené a o jaká témata prevence kriminality je největší zájem. Aktivní preventivní programy v kraji a nejen ty analyzované a jejich velká obliba či snižování kriminality v kraji svědčí o tom, že prevence kriminality má smysl.

Abstract:

The topic of this diploma thesis is Crime Prevention at Local Level – an analysis of selected projects. What the word prevention means, what the main task of prevention is, how important is it and many more issues will be answered in my thesis. The first two chapters of the thesis introduce the topic by defining the basic concepts and dividing the system of prevention – how it is organized. In the third chapter, we will speak about selected prevention entities, whose programs we will analyze thereafter. In the next part of the thesis we will introduce the target groups of prevention, which will be the main topic of the thesis. The fifth and sixth chapters of the thesis are focused on statistical data which refer to the safety of the Karlovy Vary Region, and on the introduction of the most frequent crimes committed on selected target groups. The subsequent part of the thesis is focused on prevention of crime at the local level. And in the last chapter we will learn about important preventive programs in the territory of the Karlovy Vary Region, such as the Senior Academy project or the project called Safely Via Internet. The analysis of the projects will make it clear how popular they are and which topics of crime prevention are the most interesting ones. Active prevention programs in the region, and not only those which I have analyzed, and their great popularity or reduction of crime in the region indicate that crime prevention is meaningful.
