Reporting of sustainable development in a selected company

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce je zaměřena na vymezení konceptu trvale udržitelného rozvoje, jeho historii a zhodnocení současného stavu v České republice a s ním souvisejícího plnění globálních cílů SDGs. Diplomová práce dále popisuje implementaci nezbytných kroků pro udržitelné podnikání určených pro podnikatelské subjekty. Koncept trvale udržitelného rozvoje a s ním spojený nefinanční reporting je další kapitolou diplomové práce, ve které lze nalézt podmínky pro povinnost nefinančního reportování, vymezení konkrétní směrnice upravující nefinanční reporting a popis konkrétního postupu při jeho tvorbě. Teoretická část práce dále vymezuje současně platné iniciativy a normy, podle kterých mohou podnikatelské subjekty svůj nefinanční report vypracovat. Praktická část začíná představením společnosti Daiho Czech s.r.o., která byla zvolena pro zhodnocení přístupu ke konceptu trvale udržitelného rozvoje a k analýze současného stavu nefinančního reportování., který byl shledán jako nedostatečný. Z tohoto důvodu práce obsahuje návrh reportu nefinančních informací, vyčíslení konkrétních indikátorů a témat, jež by společnost měla v rámci nefinančního reportu uvádět. Uvedená hlediska jsou v souladu se standardem G4. vytvořeným světovou organizací GRI. Poslední kapitola diplomové práce se věnuje analýze a zhodnocení existujících nefinančních reportů z řad velkých firem působících na trhu v ČR, které zároveň patří mezi ty společnosti, které začaly vydávat své nefinanční reporty mezi prvními v České republice a jejich report je v souladu se zmíněným standardem G4.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the definition of sustainable development, its history and evaluation of the current situation in the Czech Republic and the related global SDG objectives. The thesis also describes the implementation of the necessary steps for sustainable business enterprise for business entities. Concept of the Sustainable development and the associated non-financial reporting is another chapter of the thesis, in which the conditions for the obligation of non-financial reporting, definition of a specific directive regulating non-financial reporting and description of the particular process of its creation can be found. The theoretical part of the thesis further defines current initiatives and standards that can business entity use to draw up their non-financial report. The practical part begins with the introduction of the company Daiho Czech s.r.o., which was chosen to evaluate the approach to the concept of sustainable development and to analyze a current state of non-financial reporting, that was found as insufficient. For this reason, the thesis includes a proposal of report including non-financial information, quantification of specific indicators and topics that the company should include in the non-financial report. These aspects are in line with the G4 standard that was formed by GRI organization. The last part of the thesis deals with the analysis and evaluation of non-financial reports from the large companies operating in a market in Czech Republic that are among those companies who started publishing their non-financial reports as the first in the Czech Republic and their report is in accordance with the G4 standard.
