Information Technology in Health Systems: Identification of Interesting Use-cases and Analysis of Current State

Abstract:

Student se seznámí se sektorem zdravotnictví a představí jeho činnosti, jeho participanty, ich aktivity a jejich interakce a popíše model poskytování zdravotní péče v České republice. Těžištěm práce bude identifikovat zajímavé use-casey informačních řešení a vysvětlit ich benefity, popsat existující informační standardy a iniciativy v zdravotnícké informatice a dále zanalyzovat aktuální stav informatizace v českém zdravotnictví se zaměřením na 'e-health'. V praktické části práce student zaznamená a vyhodnotí komunikaci s různými rolemi v rámci sektoru. Předmětem této komunikace bude analyzovat názory na probíhající iniciativy elektronizace, zkušenosti a vztah jejich organizace k nim, zjistit používané IT služby a jejich informační strategie. Komunikace bude vedena formou dotazníků. Závěrem student demonstrativně implementuje jeden z identifikovaných 'use-caseů'.

Abstract:

In this thesis student will get familiar with healthcare sector and will introduce its actors, their activities and their interactions and describe model of provision of healthcare in Czech republic. Main focus of the work will be to identify interesting use-cases of ITC solutions and explain their benefits, describe existing standards and initiatives in healthcare informatics and further analyze current state of digitization in Czech healthcare with focus on 'e-health'. In the practical part of the thesis, student will evaluate the communication with various actors in the sector. Subject of this communication will be to analyze opinions on the ongoing initiatives of digitization, experiences and relationship of actors' organization to these initiatives and to explore the ITC services they use. Communication will be via survey. Finally, the student will implement one of chosen use-cases.
