Abstract:

Práce pojednává o filmech fantasy žánru a jejich možném využití v hodinách angličtiny na středních školách se zvláštním zřetelem na vyučování produktivních jazykových dovedností (mluvení a psaní). Empirická část práce se zabývá specifiky žánru fantasy a jeho atraktivitou pro dospívající a je vypracován teoretický základ pro výuku mluvení a psaní v hodinách angličtiny na střední škole. Jsou zde také vyjmenovány postupy, jak lze fantasy filmy konkrétně použít v hodinách. Empirická část popisuje výzkum mezi žáky a učiteli středních škol, který zkoumal, jestli a jak jsou filmy obecně používány jako učební pomůcka v hodinách angličtiny. Výsledky výzkumu potvrdily původní hypotézu: fantasy filmy patří mezi nejoblíbenější filmové žánry středoškolských student, mnohé z nich znají do detailů. Orientační průzkum mezi učiteli ukázal, že učitelé angličtiny nepoužívají filmy ve výuce jako učební materiál, ale častěji jako nástroj relaxace pro studenty a že si nejsou vědomi učebního potenciálu, který fantasy filmy a filmy obecně představují. Ve druhé části empirické části práce byly navrženy konkrétní učební plány hodin postavené na ukázkách z filmů fantasy žánru.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with fantasy films as a potential teaching tool in secondary school English classes with special respect to teaching productive skills. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the genre of fantasy and its appeal to teenagers and young adults was analysed and the theoretical base for teaching productive skills was stated. Later various techniques of using fantasy films and films in general were compiled and listed. In the empirical part, research among both secondary school students and teachers was conducted to explore using films as a teaching tool in general and the students´ familiarity with the fantasy genre films. The research among students showed that students are familiar with many films of the fantasy genre and that the films or their parts could be used in classes without having to be played. The research among teachers indicated that teachers mostly do not use films as a regular teaching tool and are not aware of the potential fantasy films and films in general offer in teaching English in secondary school classes. In the second part of the empirical part of the thesis, lesson plans based on fantasy films were designed.
