Slavic Antiquities - Pavel Josef Šafařík versus Lubor Niederle

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je představení jedné z nejvýznamnějších syntetických prací naší humanitní vědy. Slovanské starožitnosti Pavla Josefa Šafaříka a následně Lubora Niederla zahájily skutečné počátky české archeologie a etnografie. A staly se největším dílem o staré slovanské historii a kultuře. Oba autoři v nich využili nejen všechny dosud známé, ale i nové disciplíny. V případě Niederla byl velký důraz kladen i na antropologii.

Abstract:

Pavel Josef Šafařík was czech writer and classicist. He wrote one of the most famous recent historical book named Slovanské starožitnosti. Lubor Niederle was czech archaeologist, ethnographer and anthropologist, who also wrote book named Slovanské starožitnosti. These works were about ancient slavic history, culture and life. And they were answered for political and community purpose at which time, when most of the european nations wanted to live in their own states. Slovanské starožitnosti also began a new phase of czech scientific work.
