Anotace:

Libenská Linda: The life and culture of the Indians of the Great Plains Brno, MU Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o životě a kultuře prérijních Indiánů, jedné ze skupin Indiánů Severní Ameriky. Práce se zabývá obecnými informacemi o Indiánech, dále charakterizuje prérijní Indiány a jejich jednotlivé kmeny. Historie prérijních Indiánů, jejich tradice, obchodování, náboženství a jazyk jsou zde také popsány. V bakalářské práci jsou vyzdviženy nejdůležitější události, které ovlivnily život prérijních Indiánů. Závěrem se práce zabývá životem prétijních Indiánů dnes. V příloze je uvedena báseň a příběh napsaný jedním z Indiánů Siouxského kmene, ilustrující život prérijních Indiánů. V této části jsou také zapsány jednotlivé počty prérijních Indiánů z dnešní doby a některá slova používaná těmito kmeny. Bakalářká práce je také srovnáním života prérijních Indiánů před více než sto lety a tím, jak žijí dnes.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis comments on the life and culture of Plains Indians, the group of North American Indians. The final paper deals with the general information on the Indians, characterizes the Indians of the Great Plains and their individual tribes. The history of the Plains Indians, their traditions, trade, religion and language are described here as well. There are outlined the main events and circumstances that have influenced the life of the Plains Indians. The life of the Indians today is discussed at the end of the paper. The appendix contains a piece of poetry and a story written by the Indians of the Sioux tribe as the illustration of the life of the Plains Indians. The number of Plains Indians today and some Plains vocabulary are listed in the appendix. The bachelor thesis compares the life of the Plains Indians more than one hundred years ago and their life today.
