The aim of this thesis is a comparison of The Rover by Aphra Behn and The Country Wife by William Wycherley in terms of staging gender. The thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter introduces the genre of Restoration comedy and in its four subchapters focuses on the influence and characteristics of the genre as well as on actresses and the women in the audience. Cílem této bakalářské práce je porovnání her The Rover od Aphry Behn a The Country Wife od Williama Wycherleyho se zaměřením na dramatizaci genderu. Práce je rozdělena do pěti kapitol. První kapitola představuje žánr restaurační komedie a ve čtyř podkapitolách se zaměřuje na vliv na vývoj žánru, charakteristiku žánru, herečky a na ženy v publiku.
