Theory and applications of power series in the real domain

Abstract:

V této diplomové práci se věnujeme základním poznatkům o řadách funkcí, resp. mocninných řadách a jejich aplikaci při řešení modelových příkladů. První kapitola je pojata jako teoretická, je zde vyložena základní terminologie mocninných řad, i s důkazy jsou uvedeny tři významné výsledky o součtu, derivaci a integraci mocninných řad, včetně zmínky o Taylorových řadách. Ve druhé části jsou ukázky řešení modelových příkladů vztahující se k pojmům uvedeným v předchozí kapitole. Příklady jsou převzaty převážně ze sbírky B. P. Děmidoviče. Třetí kapitola je věnována užití mocninných řad, zejména při řešení diferenciálních rovnic, ve formě samostatně řešených příkladů.

Abstract:

In this thesis we deal with basic knowledge concerning the series of functions, respectively of power series and their application in solving the model examples. The first chapter is conceived as theoretical, we explain basic terms of power series, three important results about the sum, differentiation and integration of power series are given with proofs, including mention of the Taylor series. The second chapter consists of solutions of some samples model examples related to the concepts mentioned in the previous chapter. Examples are taken mainly from the collection by B. P. Demidovich. The third chapter is devoted to the use of power series, especially when solving differential equations, in the form of independently solved examples.
