Social Networks and their Role in Online Restaurant Reputation Management

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem sociálních sítí z hlediska jejich možného vlivu na online reputation management stravovacích zařízení typu restaurace. Tato problematika je v současnosti velmi aktuální, neboť stále více subjektů v cestovním ruchu využívá k propagaci a komunikaci s veřejností sociální sítě. Cílem této diplomové práce je zhodnotit vliv sociálních sítí na reputaci vybraných stravovacích zařízení na příkladu porovnání sociální sítě Facebook a cestovatelského portálu TripAdvisor. Práce si dále klade za cíl identifikovat klíčové aspekty, které mohou pozitivně či negativně ovlivnit záměr navštívit restauraci. Teoretická část práce je tvořena celkem čtyřmi kapitolami, které jsou věnovány aktuálnímu stavu poznání dané problematiky. Výzkumná část práce se poté zabývá komparací vybraných recenzních platforem z hlediska systémů a principů vytváření hodnocení. V této části je rovněž provedena analýza online recenzí za účelem identifikace klíčových hodnocených aspektů a celkového vlivu sociálních sítí na reputaci restaurací. Přínosem práce je celkové zhodnocení problematiky využívání sociálních sítí v rámci procesu řízení online reputace stravovacích zařízení typu restaurace.

Abstract:

The master's thesis studies the topic of social networks in terms of their possible influence on the online reputation management of restaurants. This issue is very up to date, as more and more facilities in the tourism industry use social networks for promotion and communication with the public. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the influence of social networks on the reputation of selected restaurants by comparing two platforms – the social network Facebook and the travel portal TripAdvisor. The thesis also aims to identify the key aspects that can positively or negatively influence the intention to visit a restaurant. The theoretical part of the thesis consists of four chapters in total, these are focused on the current state of knowledge of this topic. The analytical part of the thesis brings a comparison of the two selected review platforms in terms of processes and principles of creating reviews and ratings. This part also analyses online reviews in order to identify the key aspects and the overall influence of social networks on restaurant reputation. The contribution of the thesis is an overall assessment of using social networks in the online reputation management of restaurants.
