Integration of the Vietnamese minority into the Czech society with the help of Vietnamese cuisine

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem Integrace vietnamské menšiny do české společnosti za pomoci vietnamské kuchyně se zabývá integrací vietnamské menšiny v České republice. Práce nastiňuje integrační politiku v ČR, představuje centra, která se zabývají samotným začleňováním cizinců. Dále práce přináší přehled o vietnamské kuchyni, o její historií, o rozdílech v kuchyni různých vietnamských regionů a přehled tradičních jídel a nápojů. Nastíním také prezentaci vietnamské gastronomie v České republice, tedy její představo-vání na různých festivalech, kurzech vaření a blozích. Cílem praktické části práce bude zodpovědět, s jakými rozdíly vnímají integraci Češi a Vietnamci, jak obě skupiny navzájem vnímají své tradiční kuchyně a jak se v procesu integrace projevují zkušenosti s odlišnou stravou, restauracemi a návyky, a to na základě dotazníkového šetření provedeného mezi zástupci vietnamské i české komunity.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis entitled Integration of the Vietnamese minority into Czech society with the help of Vietnamese cuisine deals with the integration of the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic. The work outlines the integration policy in the Czech Republic, the centres that deal with the integration of foreigners. I continue to cover an overview of Vietnamese cuisine, its history, differences in several regions of Vietnam, and traditional foods and drinks. I will also outline the presentation of Vietnamese gastronomy in the Czech Republic, and its presentation at various festivals, cooking courses and blogs. The aim of the practical part of the work will be to answer the differences with which Czechs and Vietnamese perceive integration, how both groups perceive each other's traditional cuisines and how experiences with different food, restaurants and habits manifest them-selves in the process of integration, based on a questionnaire survey conducted between representatives of Vietnamese and Czech community.
