Fundamental procedures of civil aviation security against illegal acts

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou protiprávních činů v letecké dopravě. Jejím cílem je vyhodnocení ochrany letišť a letecké dopravy za pomoci vytvořeného výzkumu a zvolené komparační metody na jeden typ teroristického útoku. Současně posuzuje efektivitu přijatých opatření zajišťujících bezpečnost v civilním letectví. V teoretické části jsou zpočátku charakterizovány vybrané pojmy důležité k porozumění obsahu práce, normativní akty upravující ochranu civilního letectví před protiprávními činy a jsou konkretizovány informace o letištních prostorech. Následně se práce zaměřuje na tři typy protiprávního jednání v civilním letectví. Od každého typu jsou vybrány skutečné příklady teroristických útoků a následně zavedených bezpečnostních opatření, jejichž cílem je předejít jednotlivým protiprávním činům. Praktická část této práce vyhodnocuje získaná data pouze o jednom z již zmíněných typů útoků, a to bombových útoků na palubě letadel. Získaná data vyhodnocují zavedenou ochranu letišť a letadel v průběhu let a navrhuje možnosti zlepšení. Závěrem výsledky analýzy poskytují odpovědi i na vedlejší otázky rozšiřující znalosti o analyzovaných sabotáží.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of unlawful acts in air transport. Its aim is to evaluate the protection of airports and air transport with the help of the created research and the chosen comparison method on one type of terrorist attack. At the same time, it assesses the effectiveness of the measures taken to ensure security in civil aviation. The theoretical part initially characterizes selected concepts important for understanding the content of the work, normative acts regulating the protection of civil aviation against unlawful acts and information about airport premises is specified. Subsequently, the thesis focuses on three types of civil aviation offences. From each type, actual examples of terrorist attacks are selected and the security measures subsequently put in place to prevent each offence. The practical part of this thesis evaluates the data collected on only one of the aforementioned types of attacks, namely bombings on board aircraft. The data obtained evaluates the security in place at the airports and aircraft over the years and provides suggestions for improvement. Finally, the results of the analysis provide answers to secondary questions expanding the knowledge of the analyzed sabotage attacks.
