Tématem této bakalářské práce je malířská tvorba Jamese Abbott McNeill Whistlera, se zaměřením na sérii maleb zvaných Nokturna. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř hlavních kapitol. První je věnována osobnosti Jamese Whistlera, jeho malířskému stylu, inspiracím, vlivům a teoretickým východiskům. Topic of this bachelor thesis is pictorial work of James Abbott McNeill Whistler with focus on a series of paintings called Nocturnes. The text is divided into four main parts. First chapter is devoted to James Whistler's artistic style, his inspirations, influences and theoretical statements.
