The thesis analyzes and interprets the work A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by the US author Mark Twain. By comparing two societies on different timelines with different kinds of government, Twain demonstrates the flaws of medieval society and praises modern-day democracy and the advantages of the modern era. Tato práce se zabývá analýzou a interpretací díla Yankee z Connecticutu na dvoře krále Artuše od amerického autora Marka Twaina. Na srovnání dvou společností v různých časových obdobích s různými druhy vlády Twain poukazuje na nedostatky středověké společnosti a vyzdvihuje soudobou demokracii a přínosy moderní doby.
