Experience of Informal Caregivers with Caring for a Close Person in the Terminal Stage of a Disease

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá zkušeností neformálně pečujících s péčí o osobu blízkou v terminálním stádiu nemoci. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a praktickou.Teoretická část se snaží zmapovat problematiku neformální péče, potřeby neformálně pečujících, jejich rodin, osob umírajících a nastínit úskalí i možnosti podpory a pomoci v péči v domácím prostředí. Cílem praktické části je porozumět prožívané zkušenosti neformálně pečujících s péčí o osobu blízkou v terminálním stádiu nemoci. Data byla získávána pomocí rozhovorů s neformálně pečujícími a zpracována pomocí interpretativní fenomenologické analýzy.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the experience of informal caregivers in caring for a close person in the terminal stage of the disease. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part tries to map the issue of informal care, the needs of informal caregivers, their families, dying persons and to outline the pitfalls and possibilities of support and help in care in the home environment. The aim of the practical part is to understand the lived experience of informal caregivers with caring for a close person in the terminal stage of the disease. Data were obtained through interviews with informal caregivers and processed through interpretive phenomenological analysis.
