Ways to use NFT in the museum space

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá fenoménem NFT ve vztahu k muzejnímu prostředí. NFT můžeme nazvat fenoménem, který se stal populární během několika posledních let. Této revoluční technologii uložení digitálních děl na internetu se dostává čím dál, tím větší pozornosti, jak ze strany samotných umělců, tak i ze strany široké veřejnosti. Práci jsme zaměřili na zkoumání NFT v muzejním prostoru. Práce je rozdělena na tři zásadní části. V první části se budeme zabývat problematikou muzea, muzejním provozem a jeho podstatou. Stejně tak si načrtneme jednotlivé funkce muzeí a dotkneme se i správy a legislativy muzeí v České republice. Dále se budeme muzei zabývat z hlediska jejich hospodaření a financování jakožto státních příspěvkových organizací. V další kapitole se budeme zabývat fenoménem NFT. V kostce si představíme technologii blockchain, bez které by NFT umění nemohlo existovat. Následně se budeme věnovat samotné technologii NFT. V praktické části práce se budeme zabývat samotným NFT fenoménem s důrazem na jejich využití v muzejním prostoru. Poukážeme na jejich praktické využití a na zkušenost, kterou s nimi má první česká NFT galerie Crypto Portal. Prozkoumáme samotné výhody a nevýhody NFT pro uměleckou scénu. Cílem této práce je zjistit, které instituce v rámci České republiky mají zkušenost s představováním NFT.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the phenomenon of NFT in relation to the museum environment. NFT can be called a phenomenon that has become popular over the past few years. This revolutionary technology of storing digital works on the internet is getting more and more attention, both from the artists themselves and from the general public. We focused our work on the study of NFT in the museum space. The work is divided into three main parts. In the first part we will deal with the issues of the museum, museum operation and its essence. We will also outline the individual functions of museums and touch upon the administration and legislation of museums in the Czech Republic. We will also look at the museums in terms of their management and financing as State contributory organizations. In the next chapter, we will discuss the phenomenon of NFT. In a nutshell, we will imagine blockchain technology, without which NFT art could not exist. Next, we will focus on the NFT technology itself. In the practical part of the work, we will deal with the NFT phenomenon itself with an emphasis on their use in museum space. We will point out their practical use and the experience that the first Czech NFT gallery Crypto Portal has with them. We will explore the pros and cons of NFT for the art scene. The aim of this work is to find out which institutions in the Czech Republic have experience with introducing NFT.
